Wroxham Reserves met Halvergate for the second week and reversed the disappointing defeat by the Hares last week with a deserved 2-0 win at their place. On an excellent playing surface, play was end to end for most of the first half but generally defences were in control.

It was twenty minutes before Wroxham created a real chance and following good work by Ollie King he set up Roy Bevis on the right. As the striker raced into the penalty area he unleashed a powerful shot which brought a good save from Hares 'keeper Ian Turner turning the ball round for a corner.

This was the start of a good spell by Wroxham and Bevis soon forced another corner, which was again cleared. On 30 minutes, Darren Young was pulled down on the edge of the area and from a quickly taken freekick, Ollie King shot went just wide. Halvergate were looking good on the counter and an excellent defence splitting ball from Darren Cresswell put Lee Hunter away on the right. His final cross fell just too long for the home forwards,

But in their next attack, the pacy Hunter took the ball from just outside his own penalty area to the edge of the other box to set up Ray Goodson who brought a brillinat save from Ryan Lemmon. Lemmon was again in action to tip over another shot from the resulting corner. Although Halvergate were playing some very direct football, the Wroxham defence marshalled by Paul Hartle were generally in control. Around him young Alex Gray and Darren Maxey were responding from his experience.

On 44 minutes Wroxham ought to have gone ahead. Warren Preston made a great run and released Bevis on the left of the penalty area but his telegraphed shot was straight at Turner.

Wroxham started the second half with the wind behind them and soon picked up sail. Dean Fitzgerald's initial shot was blocked but the ball fell to Scott Swift on the edge of the area. He hit a tremendous shot that looked to be heading for the top corner but somehow Turner pulled off a diving save to tip the ball onto the bar and his colleagues cleared up.

Play then reverted to a midfield battle with both sides working hard but unable to created the vital opening. Midway through the half, Wroxham changed things around with Andrew Bunn replacing the tiring Swift and Danny Aldridge taking over from Bevis who had been down with flu throughout the week. This had the desired effect as Bunn soon got in the game with some good interceptions and Aldridge's pace started to open up Halvergate's defence.

On 80 minutes they took the lead with a somewhat lucky goal. Danny Aldridge shot firmly from twenty yards but the ball slipped through Turner's grasp and he could do nothing to stop it rolling in the net. In the process Turner dislocated a finger and took no further part.

This goal lifted Wroxham and on 85 minutes they increased the lead. Danny Broadwater was unlucky to hit the post with a right foot shot but from the rebound Aldridge set him up for a shot with his left foot and this time he made no mistake. Just before the end there was action at both ends. Darren Maxey set up Darren Young whose shot was well saved by the keeper and at the other end a Chris Fielding header went just over. Danny Aldridge had the best chance with a clear sight of goal but fluffed his shot.

This was a good display by Wroxham to move a couple of places up the table. The game was well controlled by referee Brian Applegate supported by his two assistants.
